Sonia Chahal is a Senior Physician Assistant and ARDMS-certified cardiac sonographer with 20+ years of experience in cardiac imaging and 4 years in interventional cardiology. She was the first APP to design and operationalize a role in the Cardiac Cath Lab at UCSF Medical Center, serving as first operator in right heart catheterizations and second operator in complex structural heart procedures. She has taught echocardiography to Stanford cardiology fellows and RHC procedures to UCSF cardiology fellows during their fellowship rotations, reflecting her dual expertise in cardiac imaging and invasive hemodynamics. She is an invited faculty at TCT, ACC, and CAPP, leading Cardiogenic shock hemodynamic and POCUS bootcamp for APPs nationwide.

Sam Rayner, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care & Sleep Medicine at the University of Washington, where he serves as Director of the UW CTEPH Program and Associate Director of the UW HHT Center. He leads the Rayner Laboratory at the UW Center for Lung Biology, where his research focuses on the hemodynamic mechanisms underlying pulmonary vascular disease using biofabricated microfluidic vascular models and patient-derived clinical data.

As a pulmonary and critical care physician who has specialized in pulmonary hypertension, Dr. Rayner has extensive clinical experience performing and interpreting right heart catheterization and bedside ultrasound. He brings a combined perspective as both a clinician who relies on intravascular pressure measurement in daily practice and a vascular bioengineer who studies hemodynamic physiology at the cellular and tissue level. As such, he is uniquely positioned to advise on the clinical translation of novel pressure measurement technologies.

We're honored to have Sonia and Dr. Rayner's expertise on our team as we continue advancing SonoVivo's mission.
